Poland is ranked seventh in Europe in terms of the number of spas. There are 321 such outlets located in 75 locations nationwide. Majority of them are located on the territories offering unique (on the European scale) health services.

The most important spas are located in: Krynica Zdroj, Rabka, Ciechocinek, Duszniki Zdroj, Szczawnica, Na³êczów, Augustow, Wieliczka, Ko³obrzeg.

They have at their disposal brine twig towers, thermal baths, mineral water drinking outlets, and cryo-therapy chambers. Regions, in which spas are located, are attractive in terms of tourism and they offer the possibility of spending free time and enjoying the advantages of eco-tourism at the seaside, in the mountains and lakes districts. Since recently Polish tourism offer is enriched with beauty farms and SPA institutes, which offer high quality of services. There is a dozen of such places in Poland and all of them offer European standard of services.

Polish cosmetics are also conquering foreign markets. Products of Cosmetics Laboratory Dr Irena Eris are present on the American market (where they are used by roughly 1,000 cosmetics centers) and EU markets. The firm is the only in Poland and one of the few cosmetics companies in the world owns its own Reasearch and Development Centre of Dr Irena Eris. Recently the firm acquired international award Superbrands Polska 2005. In 2004 exports of Eris' creme increased by 40%. Products are now sold in 24 countries, such as in the UK, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary. For a few years the company sets up franchised Cosmetics Institutes - currently there are 20 of them in Poland and two abroad (Bogota and Moscow).
£ód¼-based Kolastyna is selling its sun-bathing balsams in Spain, Greece, France, while Oceanica is selling body care products in Germany, USA, Canada, Lebanon.

Polish spas and medical centers are visited by Germans. Scandinavians prefer Podlasie region, while Germans and English are more often coming to Poland for weekend trips.

Dr Irena Eris Cosmetics Institute is located at the Hotel facility. It features four cosmetic rooms,

a dermatology room, rooms for massage, hydromassage, rehabilitation as well as Scotch beating. Treatments making use of the latest advances in cosmetic science and various water treatments deserve particular attention. Depending on personal needs and the length of stay, anyone can select the proper skin and body care program. Every guest can select various types of modern, specially prepared, Eris cosmetics treatments for the face and body (14 treatments), taking into consideration individual skin needs, even the most demanding. Massage can also be employed (for the body: classic and elasticizing as well as foot reflex), hydromassage, pearl bubble baths, jacuzzi, Scotch beating and movement activities.
