Restaurant WENTZL

The house where the famous Cracovian restaurant Wentzl is located was built in 1635 by very rich townspeople - Cellarich. This is one of the biggest tenements at the Market Square. This house was rebuilt couple of times - in 1718, later to a large extent in 1937 according to the project of the architect Mączyński and this state we can admire today.
The tenement was lately renovated in middle 90's - thanks to that its bright facade is magnificently exposed in Market Square. Tradition of the restaurant in this place dates back to 1792 when Jan Wentzl moved his gastronomy from close Krzysztofory to this tenement. Later his son Konrad Wentzl and his descendants ran this restaurant till the day when for a while it became archduke's brewery in Żywiec property.
Today it is very elegant restaurant.and even many people say it is the best restaurant in the city.
Restaurant TETMAJEROWSKA

Sorcerer Twardowski ran away from devil to the Moon but drops in here everyday.

Restaurant HAWEŁKA

The Restaurant is adorned with paintings of MLODA POLSKA epoch (beginning of 20th century).The attention is drawn to a huge portrait of the good-natured emperor Franz Joseph (he enjoyed the hospitality of Spiski Palace in 1851) as well as to a replica of Hołd Pruski (Prussian Homage), original painted by Jan Matejko. The painting illustrates the event of 1525: the Prussian Prince Albrecht Hohenzollern paying homage to the Polish King Sigismund I "the Old". The painting is 4 by 7 metres.
Dignified green colour prevails inside. The mood and atmosphere is the only one of its kind.
The dishes of Old Polish cuisine are served here. Duck Cracovian style, served with boletus and groats, of course from Cracow - this is the "specialité de la maison". Tasting mushroom soup served in bread bowl - the titbit famous all over the world - is a must. Worth mentioning is also a dainty dating back to the times of Franz Joseph Monarchy: Hungarian goulash with dumpling Viennese style and a pint of beer. Menu with many excellent dishes and a unique atmosphere in a historical site. This is how to create a prime restaurant. With top standard of the restaurant, the price level is reasonable.
Restaurant MIOD MALINA

It is brand new restaurant, located in the The Old Town. It possesses a style of Polish refined but familiar folklore, which is noticeable from enter. There are rustical wreathes on the walls: truly weaved and hand-painted on the sunny walls, dried and fresh bunches of flowers, herbs, bunches of flax, different cereals and Polish catkins. There’s a huge smoked wood-burning stove, in which dumplings are prepared and roast ribs or roast knuckles from the old polsh recipes sizzle.
In the evening the restaurant develops special charm, because everywhere around candles in honey and raspberry colour smoulder. It offers Polish and Italian specialities n the refined setting.
Polish cuisine is first of all delicious meat, tenderloin, ribs, knucles, to whith sauces from forest mushrooms, cranberries and smelling, juicy raspberries are served. It is also a place where you can easily drop in for a cup of caffee, glass of wine ora beer.
